Disabling an element value means it is no longer available for use in creating new account codes. The element value is available for use in transactions for any account code that contained it prior to it being disabled, and account codes that contain this element value will show on reports.
You can disable both active and inactive element values. If you disable an active element value, you can choose to disable related accounts for either the current accounting cycle or all open accounting cycles.
Click here for a list of places in AptaFund where disabled element values will and won't be displayed/available.
Select Element Value Maintenance from the Chart of Accounts menu, and the Element Value Maintenance window opens.
Select the account Structure from the pull-down list if it hasn't defaulted to the structure in which you want to work.
Select the Element whose element value(s) you want to disable, and the existing element values are displayed.
Check the box(es) for the element value(s) you want to disable, and select Disable Element Values from the More menu. You're asked to confirm the action.
Click Yes.
If you're disabling an inactive element value, you're returned to the Element Value Maintenance window and notified of success or failure.
If you're disabling
		 an active element value,
		 the Disable
Associated Account Codes popup opens with the message, "There
are account codes associated with the selected element value.
Would you like to Disable the related account codes?"
		Click either Current Accounting
		 Cycle or All Open Accounting
		 Cycles, and click Yes.
		 Note: Account
codes that contain disabled element values may not be used for
future expenses and are not available to select in other screens.
