Add an Asset Category

Typically your state will have a list of categories and subcategories in the Chart of Accounts Guidelines.

If the accounting structure changes, the element values will need to be redefined.

Add an asset category

  1. Select Capital Assets Configuration from the Purchasing and Payables > Capital Assets menu.

  2. Click on the Asset Categories tab.

  3. Click the Add button at the bottom of the upper grid, and the Add Category window opens.

  4. Complete the fields as described.

  5. Click Save. The category is added in the Enabled and Inactive state.
